Carpe Dor News
Bonjour to all, here at Carpe Dor Fishing Lakes we are proud to inform you all of our new venue Napoleon - Lacs 1 & 2, situated in the Champagne region of France (only 5 minutes from Lesmont)

We are starting all works required for our opening April 2010 with this stunning 9 acre lake; it is in the shape of a long bowing arch with an average depth of 12 feet. We believe this lake will ideally suit the angler that feels a little lost in open water, as our snaggy, over hanging trees, shrubs & gullies & margins are at a sensible casting distance. There are 4 double swims strategically placed around the lake mainly on one bank for the use of a maximum of 6 anglers fishing in pairs.
Each designated swim will be mulch lined & comes with full use of its own weigh station consisting of weigh post, euro unhooking mat & weigh sling, along with a Timber constructed Gazebo complete with bench table, cooking area, electrical point for charging mobiles, bait boats, DVD players + other small voltage electrical items an angler may need to bring and finally a push bike for the toilet & bait runs.
Fish stocking will consist of 2 tonnes of Royal strain carp from 11 to 25kg (24lb to 55lb) with many of these fish in the 30lb+ bracket, there is an original stock which, at this point, its numbers & correct sizes are not completely known to us. You are able to drive to your swims, full use of on site toilets & showers. If you fancy a break from the rods/hauling there is also a large Timber constructed Gazebo complete with BBQ area for the ideal holiday get together social. We will be keeping you updated with all works progress of the above on the forum here and via our web site www.carpedor.co.uk over the next 10 weeks.

Unfortunately plans for opening this little gem are not until next season, this stunning 3.5 acre lake is having a single storey Timber Lodge built for those requiring a little more comfort (planning application in progress) The lake is almost an oblong shape with tree lined banks and a small island with average depths of 7 feet. This lake is being set up for lake exclusive use only, ideally the angler & family or 2 anglers sharing and using the Lodge and all modern facilities, along with two private swims each side of the Lodge complete with bench table & BBQ . Each swim will also have its own weigh station complete with weigh post, euro unhooking mate & sling.
Fish stocking will consist of 1.25 tonne of Royal strain carp from 10 to 16 kg (22lb to 35lb) creating a perfect runs water (ok with one or two surprises).

Moulicent Update
After the recent stocking of further 40lb plus fish announced below this now means that there are in the region of 45 known 30lb plus carp and a staggering 17 40lb plus fish in the lake for this season. The rest of the residents are nearing 25lb plus also, so as you will agree the stock is very impressive to say the least.We are very confident that this season will see at least one fish reach the 50lb mark!
New for this season is a change to the bait rules and we are pleased to say that pellets (high quality only) and sweetcorn are able to be used - to supplement boilies - for those who wish to use them.
A further 3 tonnes of rock has been removed in an effort to safeguard the fish during the spawning period.
As one last point Jon is implementing a chipping programe so that he can monitor all the fish caught and make an accurate chart of their progress during the season,an absolutly fantastic idea i think you will all agree. As ever all of this has been done to ensure that the whole Moulicent experience is top quality and one that you will want to repeat time and time again.

Moulicent Stocking Program
As part of his ongoing stocking program Jon has recently introduced a further four 40lb plus fish to Moulicent for the forthcoming season, and informs us that there are more on order and due to arrive shortly. Watch this space for further news.

Moulicent produced its best weeks fishing so far this year with 6 different 40's being banked + 2 lake originals.

A message from Jon at Moulicent.
I am proud to say that Moulicent has surpassed my wildest dreams since I bought the lake, a recent check of all my pictures of caught fish has revealed that I have the following in photographs.
40 different fish in the 30lb bracket
5 different fish in the 40lb bracket
Making just under half my stock 30+
I did not bother counting the 20's I'm sure that there are a few more 40's to make an appearance and hopefully they will be gracing some lucky anglers nets soon.

An Anglo - Dutch team effort was needed to land a new lake record for Moulicent. Mally & Steve successfully hooked & landed a truly huge mirror weighing 46lbs 8oz. A great bit of team work to give Steve a new venue record. Click below to view the pic (Stef & Steve in the picture) HERE

Another 40+ catch for both sets of anglers today. The fish was caught and weighed in 46lbs 8oz. . There is also a new picture of one of the upper 20's caught, and held by one of the Dutch anglers and featuring Mally's son Rhiodn.

Moulicent has fished excellently this season so far with over 90 fish being taken over 30lb+ in 10 weeks fishing this is not including all the 20's.
Moulicent has now become a Barbless hooks only venue.

Work is due to commense in June on a brand new double peg at Moulicent. The "Lonely swim" or peg 1 will be able to accomodate 2 anglers yet still give alot of water to fish to. For more information you can contact John at Moulicent
